Ir. Allard Braakhuis studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Twente, where he obtained his master’s degree in 2023. For his graduation research, he worked at the ThermoPlastic composites Research Center (TPRC), a research institute focused on the processing and characterization of thermoplastic composite materials. There, he investigated the geometric optimization of overmolded stiffeners.

Since 2023, Allard has been working at the ThermoPlastic Composites Application Center (TPAC) at Saxion University of Applied Sciences. His work focuses on large format additive manufacturing with composite materials and filament winding of thermoplastic composites. In addition, he is involved in educational activities related to these technologies
