Automated manufacturing systems are generally used to increase the production rate, enable manufacturing processes, improve product quality and still reduce manufacturing costs. Robotic tape placement allows for a high volume production of net-shape, tailored fiber reinforced thermoplastic composite structures at consistent quality.

OBJECTIVE

Development of (high volume) manufacturing processes using robotic automation tools, e.g. 3D tape placement, insert molding

Keywords: Robotic systems, High volume manufacturing, Long fiber reinforced thermoplastics, Composite tape placement
