Ir. Joran Geschiere obtained his BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Twente. He then continued his studies at Delft University of Technology, where he completed the MSc programme in Materials Science & Engineering. His master’s thesis focused on the friction between adjacent plies during the stamp-forming process of thermoplastic composites. This research was carried out at the ThermoPlastic Composites Research Center (TPRC), where he subsequently began his career as a research engineer and later advanced to the position of senior research engineer. During this period, he worked on laser-assisted automated fiber placement, induction welding, and hot-tool welding of continuous-fiber thermoplastic composites.

In 2026, he joined the ThermoPlastic composite Application Center (TPAC) part of  Saxion University of Applied Sciences, as a composite automation engineer. In his current role, he develops manufacturing technologies for lightweight thermoplastic composite materials, with a strong focus on industrial implementation and automation.
